da dobrowin: West Ham United boss David Moyes has revealed that he would be interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in January if the opportunity arose.
da heads bet: Wilshere has only played 86 minutes of Premier League football for Arsenal this season, with the majority of his appearances coming in the club’s Europa League campaign.
The 25-year-old, who is valued at £13.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, will see his deal at the Emirates Stadium expire next summer, and talks over an extension have not yet begun.
A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Wilshere, who is still said to have an outside chance of making the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Moyes has confirmed that he would certainly be interested in discussing a move for the midfielder when the January transfer window opens for business.
Moyes told reporters:
“Jack Wilshere would be someone who we’d have to look at if he was available.
“I also want to make sure we’re looking at players who can be at the club for a long period and not just in for a short period.”
Wilshere is in line to start Wednesday’s Premier League clash with West Ham due to Aaron Ramsey’s absence in the middle of the park.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are also among those that will see their Arsenal contracts expire at the end of the current season.
