da dobrowin: It is safe to say that the majority of Arsenal fans would have been mentally preparing themselves for Alexis Sanchez’s departure since the end of last season.
da apostebet: Despite that, it would have been a bitter pill to swallow when the Chile international left the Emirates to join Premier League rivals Manchester United in January.
The attacking star moved to Old Trafford in a swap deal that resulted in Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining the Gunners.
Robert Pires, who played at Arsenal for six years in his career, has given his take on the situation.
During an interview with Spanish publication Marca, the 44-year-old claimed that in his day he would never have considered signing for United due to the intense rivalry.
The Frenchman has also advised the club to forget about Sanchez and focus on the players that they do have, including January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“Of course Arsenal lost a great player but we also got a great player in return, so for me, it’s the same. A team is not made up of just one player. Sanchez did well at Arsenal but that is in the past.”
During his three-and-a-half-year spell at Arsenal, Sanchez scored 60 Premier League goals.
