In attack, Jurgen Klopp is blessed with a host of quality options when selecting his forward line at Liverpool.
The German is fortunate enough to be able to call upon Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and now Xherdan Shaqiri.
As a result, Divock Origi has found himself on the cusp of the Reds’ squad, something that Wolves could look to take advantage of in the January transfer window.
The Breakdown
The Daily Mirror reports the newly-promoted Premier League side are lining-up a £20m offer for the Belgian forward in a deal that would leave Klopp and FSG delighted.
Much was expected of Origi following his arrival at Anfield given his potential, yet the 23-year-old has done little while his loan spells with Lille and Wolfsburg have also been far from successful.
With that in mind, getting £20m for the Belgium international would be nothing short of robbery. Origi’s numbers in senior football are atrocious. Simply put, he is not a prolific striker and has not shown anything to suggest he will become one.
At 23, there is obviously still plenty of time for him to develop further and fulfil his potential.
But that is unlikely to happen at Liverpool with the likes of Firmino and Sturridge around, while the £20m fee that is floating around will simply be too good to turn down.
Furthermore, a move to Wolves would be best for the former Lille man and certainly Liverpool given how much money they could receive for him.
