da lvbet: Arsenal do nothing well under Unai Emery, according Shaka Hislop.
da bet7: The Gunners’ latest performance under Emery saw them narrowly scrape past Portuguese outfit Vitoria SC, a side who are yet to secure a single point this Europa League campaign, thanks to two late goals from Nicolas Pepe. They were outplayed, and outshot, and didn’t deserve to come away from the Emirates with three points in the bag.
In football, there’s a line of argument that decrees that the best teams always manage to squeeze out results, even when they’re playing badly. But this simply isn’t applicable in Arsenal’s case.
With Tottenham and Manchester United suffering their own demise, an opportunity lays before Emery to mount an offensive and really cement a place amongst the stars alongside the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Yet as they sit fifth in the Premier League, a single point ahead of Crystal Palace, playing dull, unimaginative football without a clear philosophy to pinpoint, and with a defeat against Sheffield United clipping at their heels, its looking less and less promising that they’ll enjoy the spoils of top four this term.
The question must be asked – are Arsenal really making any progress?
