da poker: Leeds United star Charlie Taylor is eyeing a move to Liverpool at the end of the season, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
What’s the story?
da bet nacional: Last summer, Taylor lodged a transfer request, but the club refused to let him leave and also stood firm in the January window.
Taylor, who can play as a full-back or winger, became an integral part of Garry Monk’s side, and there was talk of a new deal being offered.
Since the 23-year-old suffered an injury, which has kept him out of action for around three months, Gaetano Berardi has stepped up to the plate.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Taylor has made up his mind to leave Leeds in the summer, and the door is open for a switch to Liverpool.
How much of a blow would it be to lose him?
At the start of the season it would have been unthinkable for Taylor to leave due to his importance to the team.
However, Berardi’s form since filling in for his injured teammate has been impressive.
Taylor could play a part in Friday’s Championship match against Birmingham City after returning to training, but given how well his replacement has been performing, it would be unfair to dislodge the Swiss.
Losing a player of Taylor’s calibre is never wanted at any club, but if the Englishman still has a desire to leave even if Leeds win promotion to the Premier League, then it is best to offload.
From Liverpool’s point of view, they need a recognised left-back, despite James Milner doing a relatively good job.
It is not his natural position, though, so perhaps Taylor could be an option, but it would be a big step up.
