da dobrowin: Leeds fans are loving Eddie Gray’s comments on the club’s transfer business, after the club legend asked for more Championship experience in the side.
da casino: It’s no secret that Leeds fans are disappointed with the club’s current direction, and it seems that applies to former players and managers too.
All too often in recent transfer windows Leeds have stocked up on talented but inexperienced foreign talents, and fans are in complete agreement with Gray, who made 454 league appearances for the club.
“When teams battle, we struggle. It’s okay wanting flair in your team and that’s maybe what gets you over the line but you won’t get anywhere in the Championship if you can’t dig out results,” Gray said.

Leeds’ season has completely capitulated since Christmas, and the arrival of Paul Heckingbottom has had virtually no effect on the performances or the results. Gray thinks more experienced Championship players is the solution.
“The team concede a lot of goals and don’t score enough goals and you have to ask if there are enough seasoned players who you can rely on in the Championship.”
Fans have been extremely critical of the club’s dealings with Victor Orta as Director of Football. Last summer saw several signings, but only Samuel Sáiz and Pierre-Michel Lasogga could really be considered successful, and the latter is only on loan.
“The way this season has gone, the club need to think seriously about where they go from here,” Gray continued. “I don’t think they can afford to think in the same way otherwise next season will be the same. Players need to come in but not just players of a similar calibre. You have to be honest about that.”
The message of quality over quantity will be music to the ears of Leeds fans, and they’re hoping the men in charge get the same message.
